Audio Download & eBook

I have a sister who once told me that where she lives, they have to pay to use their library system. Lame! I for one think the King County Library System is awesome and it's totally free! I was thinking tonight about how I need to re-read The Wedding but I also promised someone that they could borrow my copy and decided to check out the good old KCLS website to see if they had it in other formats. Here are the links! Hopefully they make your book club experience easier!

Thoughts on The Alchemist by Crystal - Maktub -

"The closer one gets to realizing his Personal Legend, the more that Personal Legend becomes his true reason for being."
I like this quote because I have found this to be true in my life. I think that if you have righteous intentions then the more you strive to be the best and do the best (you Personal Legend) then the more that becomes who you are.
When I first read this book it was my dream to go to a foreign country and serve in a humanitarian capacity. Since realizing this dream (going to Africa and working in orphanages) I learned more about myself, about the world, and about the Gospel than I ever thought was possible. I also learned in doing this, what I really loved to do in life. This prompted me to explore more my career of caring for children and opening up a daycare.
But even more importantly, my experiences changed the direction of my life completely. It was because of this that I married who I did. And that is the best blessing of all!
So in the end, my simple dream of going to Africa became my whole life.
Those are my thoughts.
Please share your thoughts!
Oh, and hows the reading coming for The Wedding?

Book #2 The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks

Hey everyone! I'm so excited to be apart of this fun book club. For February's read, I have picked The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks. I loved his book titled The Notebook and The Wedding is sometimes considered the sequel. I read it back when it first came out in 2003 when I was a single girl, looking for love in pretty much all the wrong places. From what I remember, this was one of those stories of TRUE love that helped me remember that not all guys are idiots. I'm excited to re-read it now that I have found the LOVE of my life and I am interested to see if my opinions on the book have changed in the last eight years. I hope you enjoy it!

As far as the time and date for the next meeting goes, the first Thursday seems to have quite a few conflicts so time and date to be determined. I'm leaning towards March 8th. For those of you who are interested in the Pull-Ups Potty Dance Party that I mentioned would be right before the book club meeting, that too has changed. Let me know if you want details!

Welcome

Welcome to The Book Club!
We are open to suggestions for new names but this is the best we can come up with on the fly. Plus, the book club is a group effort. It is the hope of Crystal and Shannon to bring women together who share a love of reading.
Feel free to join us in person for book discussions or post your thoughts and feelings on here. Please email cwsjbookclub@gmail.com to be added as a blog author.  Also inform others that you think might be interested and direct them here to sign up.
